The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) has begun selling mangoes grown within its campus, offering them to students, staff, and residents at highly subsidized rates. The sale was organized at the campus Shopping Complex (Shop No. 2) on May 4, 2026, between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Mangoes were priced at ₹50 per kilogram, with a purchase limit of up to 2 kg per person. The initiative followed a first-come, first-served system, and saw strong participation from the campus community. Encouraged by the positive response, the institute has announced that another batch of ripened mangoes will be made available in the coming days. Additionally, on May 5, 2026, fresh windfallen mangoes—naturally ripened—will be sold at a reduced price of ₹20 per kilogram during the same time slot. All payments are being accepted exclusively through UPI, with buyers required to scan a QR code at the venue. Participants are also advised to bring their own bags. This initiative reflects NISER’s effort to make use of campus-grown produce while providing affordable and fresh fruit to its community.
